Tyler is a native Hoosier, born and raised in Grabill, Indiana graduating from Leo High School and the University of Saint Francis.  He sees the values of Northeast Indiana.  He and his wife, Alicia, are committed members of their church serving as life group leaders, in children’s ministries and on the board of elders.  They live as imperfect people trying to serve Christ. 

 

Tyler’s faith and family are at the forefront of his life.  He married his high school sweetheart, Alicia, and they have four children from ages 13 to 3 years old.  They enjoy their time relaxing on the family farm, gardening, tending to livestock, playing sports, hunting and quiet time in nature. He and his wife are very passionate about adoption. 

 

Dr. Johnson has solidified his position as a leader in Northeast Indiana following graduation from medical school and residency. He came back home to work in the community he grew up in.  He works full time as an emergency physician in Northeast Indiana.  He has held several leadership position within his group including on the executive committee and as a representative on the EMS foundation.  He serves as the director of emergency medicine, chief of staff and on the board of directors for the hospital.  He currently represents emergency physicians in Indiana at the state level.

 

Dr. Johnson has extensive experience in the business of medicine and executive dynamics.  He has worked with hospitals and legislators on improving patient safety and access to care.  Dr. Johnson is an avid advocate for patients and is well respected throughout the medical community.

Dr. Johnson volunteers in many areas locally and abroad not just as a token board member but face to face with those he is serving.  He spends time monthly as a volunteer at the free clinic in Grabill, IN off and on since high school helping those who struggle to access affordable primary care.  He helps lead a non-profit helping advance cognitive, emotional, and social skills to client of all ages, as their board president and actively working with staff.  Dr. Johnson has been a long time supporter medical missions and an orphanage in Haiti and had an opportunity to lead students to minister and serve the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic in the central remote mountain ranges of the island.  

 

Dr. Johnson is passionate about his faith, family, and community.  He does not take his role as a servant leader lightly nor does he use the term loosely.  He has developed a broad knowledge base and is not afraid to take action when needed.  He frequently looks for opportunities to use his experiences to serve where he can whether through his vocation in emergency medicine, servant work in the community or a calling to public service.  Most of all he is thankful for those of you who have helped him along the way.
